FAQ about the Seaport Scores, the best Boston Waterfront Walking Tour

Other FAQ applicable to all tours is available here

What if weather impedes the tour?

Seaport Scores is a fair weather tour. It will be canceled for moderate (>0.1 inches / hour) or heavier rain. We will cancel if weather becomes dangerous which includes thunderstorms, blizzards, temperatures exceeding 104 F (40 C) or falling below 23 F (- 5 C).

We’ll notify you at least 2 hours in advance if a cancellation is necessary, and you’ll be offered a refund or reschedule.

Is the Seaport Scores route wheelchair accessible?

Yes! The entire route is flat, follows even cement or brick pavement with one moderate incline. If you use a wheelchair or have special mobility needs, please contact us at booking.

It is our pleasure to be inclusive of all people competing in Seaport Scores. If you have any special needs, please contact us. It is our pleasure to accommodate!

Should I bring anything?

You may want a small bag or large empty pocket to carry your prize home if you win. The prize is about the size of a juice box, measuring about 4 inches x 2.5 inches x 3inches (100 mm x 65mm x 76mm).

Please wear weather-appropriate gear and comfortable shoes. Windbreakers are recommended in Spring and Fall. The Boston waterfront can be extremely windy with limited shade.

A water bottle is recommended on hot days.

Are pictures allowed?

Of course! Your guide is happy to take a photo of your group in any of the scenic locations visited.

What is the tour refund policy?

For public tours, please provide 4 hours notice prior to your scheduled tour date and time to secure a full refund. Cancellations or no-shows result in loss of tour payment. For private tours, full refunds are possible with at least 24 hours advance notice. Detailed terms and conditions can be found in our ticketing page.

Do guides accept tips or gratuities?

Yes, Scroll & Stroll Tours is a young small business and is too poor to pay guides the salary they deserve. Gratuities or tips are dearly appreciated at the end of a tour. There is no pressure if you feel your guide is not deserving, but please let us know what could be improved for future groups here.

Cash tips and Venmo are preferred. Your guide can process credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and foreign payment methods via their Stripe web store.

Will there be any snacks?

There will be edible chocolates after one challenge. We will carry extra drinking water if you need a refill at any point during the tour.

What is so special about a Scroll & Stroll Sightseeing Tour?

Nobody loves Boston more than we do. That’s why we go to tireless efforts to colorize historic photos, build our own props, do our own research and haul a television up and down 4 flights of stairs in an apartment building lacking an elevator. Living in this city is incredible & fuels our guides excitement to share the cities greatest sights with you!
